Richard is a Managing Director at AeroDynamic Advisory. Frequently cited as an aviation industry authority by trade and news publications, Richard has appeared on numerous television news and radio programs including BBC, Reuters, CBS, CNN, and PBS and spoken at numerous industry conferences. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Since 2012 he has served on the National Aeronautic Association Collier Trophy Selection Committee. He presents a yearly lecture to the National Defense University/Industrial College of the Armed Forces and has served as an expert witness in aerospace markets.

In addition to his consulting role, Richard writes publicly about aviation and defense, with regular columns at Forbes.com and in Aviation Week and Space Technology. His articles have appeared in numerous other publications including Foreign Policy, the Wall Street Journal, and AIAA’s Aerospace America.
